Documentation & Reflection

The Stories of Our Journeys...

  • Documentation

    • Documenting the Process:
    • Learning Journals
      1. Please copy the questions below and paste them in the Growth area on your learning journal
      2. Consider the resources above, your efforts with students over the past few months, and your discussion with your learning team, as you reply to each. *be sure to save your page after responding to each question
        • How? How often?
        • What? To what degree (details)?
        • Why bother (in what way(s) has/will your documentation support your ongoing learning)?
        • What artifacts of professional and/or student learning might you include?
        • What story will your documentation tell of your journey?
  • Reflection

    • A (Bloom's) Taxonomy of Reflection - P. Pappas
      • Reflective Teacher
      • Reflective Student
    • Learning Journals
      1. Pick 2-3 prompts from the taxonomy to respond to (re: your high jump) and post on your learning journal page
      2. Consider the documentation & reflections of those in your learning team... *please share by posting to the discussion area of their page (hint: click on "speech bubble" at the top of the page):
        • What connections, questions and/or next-step ideas can you offer around on their efforts
        • What elements of their reflection might inform their next steps?
        • What elements of their reflection might inform your next steps or learning?

  • Putting It Together

    • Doumentation & Reflection
      • What's the relationship?
      • How might you strengthen this practice in your own learning?
      • In student learning?
        • at what cost?
        • to what benefit?
  • For January...
